2026 Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize

The international Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize recognises the most skilled, creative and unique contemporary artists within their category, as well as one extraordinary overall Grand Prize Award Winner.

From the entries received, the 200 Finalists [25 per Drawing, Digital Art, Photography, Sculpture, Imaginative Realism and Emerging Artist Award, and 50 per Painting Award] will receive extensive international promotion through Beautiful Bizarre Magazine’s email marketing, website coverage, social media marketing & advertising [2 million+ followers], and additional connections and outreach through our partners, friends, supporters and media.

From the Finalists, the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Prize Winners in each Award Category, plus the overall Grand Prize Award Winner of the 2026 Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize, will be selected by the Jury Panel and announced in mid September 2026. The Winners will be invited to participate in the prestigious Beautiful Bizarre Magazine exhibition at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, CA, USA alongside 100+ of the world’s best contemporary representational artists. This is the perfect opportunity for artists to get their work in front of both the Editor-in-Chief of Beautiful Bizarre Magazine and the Directors of Modern Eden Gallery!

Before the Winning the art prize I had no galleries that could actually sell my work and very few followers on social media. The Beautiful Bizarre art prize was the endorsement my career needed. I entered the prize hoping to be one of the finalists. I hoped it would momentarily shine a light on me and help introduce my work to a new audience. The response surpassed my expectations. I’m somewhat new to Instagram and perhaps a bit late to the party. I was feeling that just posting my work to my page was not going to get me where I need to be. I come across an add for the contest and thought “why not?’ I was also impressed at how quickly my painting sold at the exhibition!

Winning the Beautiful Bizarre Photography Prize in 2020 was a real career changing moment for me. It gave me a huge boost in confidence that has steered me towards achieving so many things. Since winning this prize, I have been accepted into multiple group shows, prestigious art fairs and I have seen a large growth in my sales of my artwork.

Winning the RAYMAR Painting Award was an honor that is difficult to put into words. Beautiful Bizarre has built a decades-long reputation for sharing some of the worlds’ most… well… beautiful and bizarre art.  To have a panel of judges consider my work at the top of that aesthetic – it energizes me and inspires me to create more. 

As we all engage more and more in an online world, our local art communities can be forgotten.  We NEED to connect with other artists and art lovers to feel alive and to stay alive. This competition is a conduit for artists all over the world to connect. I was exposed to artists and works that I had never heard of or seen before. 

Winning is, of course, fantastic… but even if you don’t win, you are engaging and connecting.  Your work is being seen by someone who may one day remember you for an exhibition they are curating or a collector that is looking for specific works… this is the ecosystem of the art world.  The Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize helps us all connect.

I decided to enter this contest because it’s the one contest that truly celebrates art that deviates from the ordinary. It felt like the perfect platform to push my boundaries and connect with a community of like-minded people who value uniqueness.
 
This experience has been incredibly rewarding for me. Everyone at Beautiful Bizarre is so kind and it truly felt like coming home to a community where I belong. While I try not to evaluate my work by external validation, I would lie if I said it didn’t feel great to have so many new eyes on my work – after years of absolute stagnation in the online attention department, this and the subsequent magazine inclusion, brought a wave of very friendly people my way and I appreciate that a lot.

I guess what I am trying to say is, other people often view your work through a lens so different to your own that what you yourself consider flawed, they see shining bright.

Coming in third place has given me a new level of self confidence in my work, allowing me to let go of some nagging fear and doubts. I just want to paint even harder! The possible chance to have your work shared in any of these formats to their gargantuan audience is incredible for artists!

I entered for several years before being a finalist and received many unexpected opportunities along the way.

It’s also one of the easiest art prizes to enter. The entry process is so stress-free, and you can use any work from your portfolio regardless of when it was made!
