Art Prize 2023: Beautiful Bizarre Magazine Founders’ Emerging Artist Award Finalists Announced

Last but certainly not least! What an incredible debut for the Beautiful Bizarre Magazine Founders’ Emerging Artist Award. Open to all mediums, we saw an amazing and diverse selection of entries. In fact, entries received were of such a high caliber, that we have decided to expand the number of Finalists from 15 to 20!

We have enjoyed traditional artworks made with oils, inks, soft pastels, coloured pencils, charcoal, acrylics, watercolours, Gouache, spray paints, marker pens, plaster texture paste, pens, pencils, and even child’s drawings and baby pictures!

Sculptures entered covered a diverse range of materials including: resins, animal hair and feathers, metal, upcycled found objects, polymer clay, wood, wire, Sculpey, taxidermy, glass domes, beads, porcelain, antiques, textiles, foam, filigree, felts, freshwater pearls, volcanic rock, moss, semi-precious gems, seashells, magnets, laser cut objects, wax, and a living olive tree.

Digital artworks included the use of: Blender, Photoshop, Zbrush, Wacom Intuos Pro & Cintiq, Procreate, Sketchup, Rebelle 6, Cinema 4D, XP Pen, Corel painter, GIMP, and Paint Shop Pro.

Additionally, Photography entries included the use of apparatus and software by: Sony, Laowa, Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, Kamlan, Logiciels Lightroom, and Luminar.

This debut year of the Emerging Artist Award has seen an incredible amount of talent enter. What a high caliber of entries!

The Prizes

From the 145 Finalists, the Winners in each category, and Grand Prize Winner will be invited to participate in the prestigious Beautiful Bizarre Magazine curated exhibition at Haven Gallery alongside 70+ of the best contemporary artists from around the world. Plus share in over $50,000 USD in cash and prizes including: a non acquisitive cash prize, product prizes, advertising packages, editorial in Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, exclusive interviews published on the Beautiful Bizarre websites, exposure to our 1M+ social media community, and much more!!

People’s Choice Award

The People’s Choice Award Winner will be selected by popular vote from the 145 Finalists. The People’s Choice Winner will receive a year’s worth of social media advertising through the Beautiful Bizarre Magazine socials to ensure they are able to connect with the right audience of engaged creatives, collectors and gallerists, raise their profile, associate their work with other leading creatives, and of course to grow their social media following. They will also enjoy a Profile listing [including artwork gallery] on the Beautiful Bizarre Artist Directory for 12 months, plus a 12 month Beautiful Bizarre Magazine print subscription, and an in-depth interview published on the Beautiful Bizarre Magazine and Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize websites, giving readers an insight into their vision and practice.
