The Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize, now in its 6th year, is an annual non-acquisitive international art prize that celebrates diversity and excellence in the representational visual arts. It includes all static mediums including Traditional Art media, Digital Art media, and Photographic media; and all styles from realism and hyperrealism, to pop surrealism and lowbrow. The Prize seeks to inspire creatives from around the world to pursue a life and career in the arts, and to help careers grow through funding and increased exposure of their work to galleries, collectors and media globally. Before Winning the art prize I had no galleries that could actually sell my work and very few followers on social media. The Beautiful Bizarre art prize was the endorsement my career needed. I entered the prize hoping to be one of the finalists. I hoped it would momentarily shine a light on me and help introduce my work to a new audience. The response surpassed my expectations. I’m somewhat new to Instagram and perhaps a bit late to the party. I was feeling that just posting my work to my page was not going to get me where I need to be. I come across an add for the contest and thought “why not?’ – I feel that I needed a lift from someone with influence. I was also impressed at how quickly my painting sold at the exhibition!
Winning the Beautiful Bizarre Photography Prize in 2020 was a real career changing moment for me. It gave me a huge boost in confidence that has steered me towards achieving so many things. Since winning this prize, I have been accepted into multiple group shows, prestigious art fairs and I have seen a large growth in my sales of my artwork.
The artist’s journey is an intricate weaving of ups and downs, loves and sorrows, successes and failures. This moment is a confirmation and a validation of everything – every little step on the path, every obstacle overcome, every dream brought yowling and chirping into life. That we get to share this creative adventure with each other and further, that we get to share the thrill of being selected as Winners of this award for a sculpture born of both of us is a dream literally spun into life.
Taking part in the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize was a fantastic experience. The promotion of the artists is invaluable and working with the Beautiful Bizarre
team is a pleasure. With the winners being asked to participate in a group show, the contest comes full circle where the artists get to meet and enjoy each other’s work. It’s what an Art Prize should be.
The Beautiful Bizarre art prize enabled me to extend my reach to a much broader international audience. As a contemporary artist, it is so thrilling to be placed with some of the best artists around the world. The Prize is important to assist me in leveraging myself as an artist in the future, it opens up many more opportunities.

I was flabbergasted when I heard I had won. the timing and the work, which meant a lot to me personally, really made me feel recognized and validated.
